It was time for the big holiday party in Mr. B’s kindergarten class, and the excitement was through the hoof roof. Five brave students—Lennix, Heath, Joaquin, Emery, and Brody—were about to perform the Macarena in giant, fluffy reindeer costumes. Lennix, the natural leader, was bouncing with excitement, ready to show off her moves. “Remember, guys, we’ve got this!” she said, though her antlers were already wobbling dangerously. Heath, who wasn’t thrilled about dancing, whispered, “I feel like I’m dressed as a furry potato,” while Joaquin tugged at his oversized hooves, muttering, “Why do reindeers even need hooves for the Macarena?”
The music kicked in, and the reindeer started dancing. Lennix started strong, but on the second arm swing, her antlers got stuck in the garland on the wall. Brody, who couldn’t see a thing through his costume, was doing some version of the Macarena—mostly involving spinning in place and bumping into everyone. Heath, fully committed to the role, was doing his dance with wild hoof slaps, which resulted in him accidentally slapping Joaquin’s costume every other beat. Emery, determined to stay on rhythm, was somehow managing to keep her antlers from poking anyone, but her tiny reindeer tail kept hitting Brody in the face, causing him to stumble even more.
By the end of the song, Mr. B was in tears from laughing. Lennix was still attached to the garland, Heath was now just pretending to fly like a reindeer, and Joaquin was flat on the floor after tripping over his own hooves. Emery took a perfect bow, somehow completely oblivious to the chaos, while Brody finally figured out where the front of his costume was and gave a proud wave to the audience. The rest of the class burst into applause, while Mr. B smiled and said, “That, my friends, was a Macarena miracle!”
